Restaurant Round Up – December Eats

After a month of indulgence I’m ready for clean January!  But first, a round up of my best eats from December!
It was a month full of breakfasts!  I discovered Golda, an adorable all-day cafe in Clinton Hill with a delicious breakfast sandwich.

I finally made it to Arcade Bakery for an array of croissants.  Good, but no Blé Sucré!

Caffe Marchio, the new spot from Union Square Hospitality group is the perfect place for a frittata panini and cappuccino!
I finally tried the shakshuka at Dizengoff in Chelsea Market.  It was good, but I’ll go back for the hummus, not this dish.
My cousin and I return to Minetta Tavern every December for a holiday treat to ourselves:  steak frites and martinis!  The grilled trout was also delicious and their bar is the perfect place to get into the holiday spirit!

A new holiday tradition has been set with pizza delivery on the night we decorate our tree, this year, we had two delicious pies from Keste.
Jared made the most delicious spicy crab while home for the holidays, I had to post as this was restaurant quality indeed!
And on Christmas morning, we recreated an “everything bagel” spiced potato pancake with caper creme fraiche, smoked salmon and poached eggs!

Also while home, we sat at the bar of Press restaurant and enjoyed a special bottle of wine with mini corn dogs, truffle mac and cheese and steak frites; one of my favorite bars to sit at in the Napa Valley!
Revisited Oiji, the steak tartare and truffled seafood broth were just as good as I remember; we also tried the ssam platter for 2 and couldn’t resist the famous honey butter chips with vanilla ice cream!

For New Years, we ventured upstate and hit The Arnold House for chicken wings.  The trout dip with “spent grain” crackers was also amazing!

We rang in the New Year with a 10 course feast at the North Branch Inn.  Highlights included an epic raw bar, freekah and duck egg salad, seafood assortment, and venison ravioli!

And now…..the reset begins!
